I give you all a girl can give you!
Did you know, that the Soft Cell version of Tainted Love was a coverversion too? And they changed the lyrics slightly: For example in the original version written by Ed Cobb and sung by Gloria Jones in the 60s she sang “…a girl can give you” and Soft Cell changed that to “boy” and some minor other changes.
Tainted Love
…is the song that most of us relate to the 80s and the feeling of those times. And of course I had to do this song. No 80s tribute album would be complete without Tainted Love. But did you know how many versions of this song are out there and how different they are? Boy was I staggered when I realised that. And as with my other tracks I tried to find a style for the song that had at least some reminiscence of the Soft Cell version, but not too much, and on the other hand suited the lyrics and had some fresh and unique appeal to it. And again I had to develop several versions until I found one that was good enough in my opinion.
